The restaurant changes owners in 2019
Nathalie Terrien and Valentin Eguether are the new owners of Le Pélican in Vernantes. They took over from Dominique Dupré and his wife, who have been the managers since 2001.
The young buyers offer the same services, restaurant, traditional and gastronomic cuisine, hotel with 10 rooms and caterer. With 10 years of experience in several establishments and countries, they chose to come to Vernantes for their first installation. We found them through a specialised agency.
We wanted to acquire an establishment to be closer to the family.
It was within the budget and we were seduced because the former owners were willing to make a transition with us for a few months, they say.
Valentin Eguether, a native of Nancy, holds a Bac Hôtelier and a BTS in Hotel Management. I worked for 10 years in the catering industry on the Swiss border, in La Réunion, in the United States and in Canada.
This experience has enabled me to work in 2 to 4 star hotels as well as in working-class restaurants and starred gastronomic restaurants.
Nathalie Terrien, after 4 years of apprenticeship, obtained her BEP and Bac pro in Pastry.
Following these studies, it was in England that I learned to cook in a French restaurant, then after a few years of experience in foreign countries, I went to the United States where I met Valentin.
